The range of electrical frequencies that an electronic device or transmission system can effectively handle. For LAN's, it describes the maximum data rate for a given topology. The best bandwidth indicator of a cabling system is Attenuation Crosstalk Ratio (ACR), and one should strive for 7-10 dB ACR at the highest frequency level of transmission. The higher the ACR, the stronger the signal. (See Attenuation Crosstalk Ratio (ACR)).
